Home Cinema is thrilled to announce its upcoming open call, this time in collaboration with HeartQore, a multidisciplinary platform focused on queer expression based in Berlin, which brings artists together for creative exchange. With this open call, Home Cinema explores its curatorial research on dreams with Heartqore, through a gathering event: If moving images dream, how do they do it?
Dreams are often experienced as cinematic journeys, where the unconscious is given expression in fantastical ways. These experiences may contain mysterious juxtapositions of displaced subjects and objects, generate doubling, multiplying selves, mirror images, metamorphosis, bodily disintegration, and stretched, expanded, or zoomed realities. Dreams are composed of discontinuous narratives and fragmented projections that draw landscapes of possibility. Within the architecture of the dream, the past, present, and future converge in a different time and space.
The event will take place in Berlin on June 24th 2023 (location TBC). In addition to the physical screening, Home Cinema will stream the selected works at a later date.
The open call invites artists to submit works with no time restriction, format, or language limitation. Further details will be provided to the selected artists at a later stage of the process.
